Post Office drop boxes
DESCRIPTION: The post office flat out refuses to shovel the sidewalk. This particularly bothers me for two reasons: I expect better of the federal government, and they are always careful to shovel by the drop boxes, because that affects THEM.

I talked to Officer in Charge Fred Johnson about this, and he told me, with perfect bureaucratic indifference/arrogance, that they "can't" shovel the snow (yet see shoveled area in photo) because they don't own the sidewalk. And he "can't" lend me the shovel to do it for him, for liability reasons. Presumably he "can" sleep at night without worrying about someone falling and permanently breaking something.

Public Works, to its credit, tried (unsuccessfully) to help in this instance after I talked to them about it. Emails I sent were useless. One postal worker suggested that instead of using the sidewalk I walk through the line of cars waiting to use the boxes!
