DESCRIPTION: I should probably have waited for a few weeks, until the leaves have filled in, to take this photo, but it'll have to do. It's supposed to represent all the plant-caused difficulties of trying to walk near the road along the edge of the forest preserve. (Throw in snow ridges plowed up there and you get a better picture of the fun.) True, there are some nice paths on the interior, but in some places they're not nice at all, but buggy, swampy, unmarked of course, and indirect. And a lot of people don't like to use those paths at night (is it even legal?) for fears of dangers worse than tripping on a tree root.
