If I had to pick one photo that epitomizes the attitude behind sidewalk obstruction, I think it would be this one. The homeowner, naturally, doesn't want branches obstructing his driveway, and trims accordingly. But he doesn't care about obstructing the sidewalk. And trims accordingly. He may well be an otherwise fine person who simply hasn't given the matter any conscious thought.
